Has anyone had a problem with their navigation system not talking to them any more. I have a 2005 built June 2005 and on the ride back from Bowling Green it talked up a storm. Now it only tells me to procede to the "designated route" and it says "you have arrived at your destination". The voice is turned on but it does not speak. Also, the map just doesn't seem to track right. I have an appointment with the dealer to check it out, but I am not sure what they are going to find.

You could try resetting the unit to factory defaults in case something has be turned off or set differently. Also do a Calibration to make sure your car knows where it is. These two procedures are easy to do and it might keep you from having to make that trip to the dealer.
Probably he said "I'm Hungry" with the top off, and the Nav lady probably did not understand what he said so she responded "voice guidance off" which he did not hear when she said it.
In other words, just like a typical relationship. The man says one thing and the woman misinterprets what he said. Then she tries to respond to him, but he tunes her out.
Anyways, I know I can't remember what to tell the little lady in the car and I often don't use the right words, and she turns something off on me. Then I spend the next 10 minutes trying to figure out how to turn it back on again. Maybe with Voice Guidance off, she still might help at the start and at the end but not bother with all the turn dialog? I don't use it enough to verify this fact, it is just a guess.
I bet the answer is somewhere in your navigation manual. Have you looked in there yet? Remember you can't talk dirty or onstar will pick it up and take her away for a short time.
Good luck. I bet its some simple magic word or return to default setting that won't require dealer intervention. But if it become a hassle just have them take care of it for you.
The biggest probelm I have had is that my wife keeps arguing with the Direction Lady. DL says turn right, wife says that's wrong and wife knows a better way. Sometimes it gets pretty nasty...a regular cat fight. I have tried pushing the "volume off" command, but wife still keeps talking. Any suggestions?
I had the same thing happen and then I found out that I somehow shut the Nav volume all the way down. Maybe I said something that it thought was like "voice navigation off"... It was no problem though
What all does the NAV do. I know it serves as a GPS for directions. But, can you speak to it about Driver/Passenger side A/C, or other things of that nature. I know my friend's Acura TL GPS will do that.

Well, the nav does basic radio controls, nav controls, but not air conditioning.
However, one little known feature is on coupes there is a command which can eject the roof panel. The eject option only works with painted tops however. I forget the exact wording of how to make the roof eject though. Maybe it is in the manual or the navigation's help menu.
