Are you talking smog or just sound inspection. Mufflers have absolutely no barring on smog, just noise.

You should not have an issue passing inspection - OBDII only, and as long as there are not more than 2 'no- pass', you are clear.

I got ticketed in VA for illegal exhaust (bullets and headers). His point was that no way was it legal being that loud ... technically, he wrote me up under a statute stating "no exhaust" and intrepretted as having no mufflers ... he thought I had straight pipes and I could not convince him otherwise.
The ironic thing is the day before I just got my state emissions inspection LOL go figure.

It was on Rt 66 in Faquier Cty. It was drizzling and I was doing 60 mph in a 65 - following another Vette (wives and husbands out to dinner).
He followed me for over 5 miles then pulled me over.
Of my 25 years in driving, this was the 2nd time I was pulled over and given a bogus ticket .... the other time was by an MP on Ft. Stewart and a total **** whole.
Every other time the cops were cool (even if they still wrote me up - and nothing more than minor speeding).
It was actually the first time ever that I voiced my opinion as well as I was irrate beyond belief.
