I have a C6 '06 coupe with the navigation option. The owner's manual states that installing window tint will interfere with the navigation receiver.
I have read that there are carbon and silicone tint films available that, unlike the metalic types, will not hinder nav receiver function.
So far I have been unable to locate any tint installers in South Florida who are aware of this type of non metalic film. They all state that the "low metalic content film" that they install will not interfere with the gps system. For obvious reasons I seriously doubt their claims.
Does anyone have any information on specific carbon/silicone films that may be available?

The tint I have is Formula One Pinnacle series. They guarantee no interference.Seems to work great and no interference issues. Check them out.http://www.formulaone.com/
I've heard that the 'traditional' tints also interfere with the FOB's door opening range. Research 3M tints, I've heard that they make the good stuff.
I have 3M carbon tint on my C6. It is guaranteed for life not to bubble, peel, discolor, etc.
In the past, I had the opportunity to make a warranty claim on some 3M film and they stood 100% behind their product. Tint was replaced at zero cost to me.
As most have said just avoid the metallic tints. Lots of good brands out there...if you go the 3M route you'll want to use their Colorstable line of tint. It comes in several degrees of darkness in a gray/charcoal...they also have an excellent bronze Colorstable tint (which will not purple) which is out of production but still in inventory if your interested. Looks great on luxury cars with tan interiors...a much under appreciated color.
what he said....key is METALLIC. Metallic tint will interfere with Nav, radar detector, and fob operation. Been there done that. Shouldn't be a problem with the selection available if you shop around or let your installer know.
I also have the Llumar film. They say in their brochure it is compatible with auto electronic systems. I've had no problems using my NAV with it installed.
I have Llumar metallic tint on the sides and rear of my 2006 NAV coupe and have no problems with the GPS signal reception.
The NAV antenna is built into the front dash and receives its signal down through the front windshield.
As long as you don’t tint that, there shouldn’t be a problem.
My V1 also gives me warnings from the side and rear so I don’t think it blocks that either.
It may reduce it a bit, but it definitely doesn’t completely block it.
Receiving radar warning signals from the front is most important and those are fine.
