Default Problem with seat memory

Here's the problem: I have the "exit" memory position set to push my seat all the way back and down upon exiting. Most (but not all) of the time, when I exit the car the seat stops its rearward travel before moving all the way back. Sometimes it stops just a fraction of an inch short, other times an inch or two. When it stops short of the exit position, it also fails to move to its No. 1 preset position when I re-enter the car and push the number 1 button. In these cases, if I then manually power the seat all the way back (to its programmed exit position) and then push the number 1 button, it will go to the number 1 preset position. I'm ALWAYS using the number 1 fob and the other fob is far from the car. There's nothing behind the seat obstructing its travel. Any ideas what might be causing this?

When in exit mode memory, get in, start and let the memory work.. no need to press the number 1...try it.

Incorrect. With the manual transmission, you must push the button in order to bring the seat (and steering wheel) to the preset position.

I have experienced the same situation. It does this intermittently.
When I reset it it works fine for awhile (ie most of the time) then goes bonkers
I will mention next time go in for service. Consider this to be a minor annoyance. Easily forgotten once I get up and go !

Edit: Have 36,500 miles on Vette. Started this at + or - 35,000 miles

Second edit..every now and then (ie once a month for past 3 months) the radio stations also need to be reset. And there is the occassional Radio (?) noise before engine starts. Whats with that???

I haven't had that one happen yet, Bill. I'll report here if I get any answers from the dealer on the seat memory.

On a different subject, did you happen to hear anything about the accident at the Cotati exit last Sunday off 101 in Rohnert Park? A Flatbed tow truck with a Caddy onboard went into a House. Unbelieveable sight.

Just curious

Geez, no, I didn't hear about it. I'm surprised since I drove down to Petaluma and back that afternoon. It must have been a mess!

For driving position, it is. MN6 folks have to be able to push in the clutch. GM lawyers want the driver to be sure he/she can do that before starting the car.

mpuzach, I'd take a look under the seat to see if something's dragging. I've not had such a problem, but several here have reported things under the seat dragging.

Had a similar problem in my C5 with about 50k miles, tech replaced some control module (in the door?). Fortunately, I had the extended warranty.

Thanks for the tip, Jim. All's clear under the seat.

Yeah, I'm thinking that it's probably an electronic glitch that will require the replacement of a part. Sounds like something to have the dealer address.
