Just got my C6 tinted last week. I went with 35% sides and 20% rear so it's legal in Florida. The 35% sides are not very dark but it looks sharp enough for my taste and it seems better for safety reasons and hopefully other Corvettes will still sort of be able to see me wave at them. The 20% back is much darker and I took out the luggage shade since you can't really see inside any more, so it seemed kind of redundant. Of course the area with the dots was a problem but I'm going to bring the car back to the tint shop next week for touch-up work, and it seems to be getting better just by leaving the car out in the sun.
I don't know if it's just my imagination but it seems the A/C does not have to work quite as hard with the tint. There is still a lot of heat coming in through the clear top but I doubt I will get a painted top due to the delamination issue. Anyway hopefully the tint will pay for itself just in terms of better fuel economy since I won't have to run the A/C as much. It was $250 to tint the two sides and the back and it took five hours.
So today I took the car to the beach for some pictures. Please no one yell at me for parking in the handicapped space, I was only there for like a minute to snap these photos.
Your car looks amazing! How did they handle the "dots" on the rear window, and were they able to use just one piece of film? Also what brand of tint did the installer use,and the color?

They did not do anything special in the way of managing the dots, I asked the guy about it and he said yeah, it's going to be an issue that the tint will not stick as well there especially on the very top where the dots get bigger. I mentioned the glue stick idea and he shook his head. If you look closely in the picture below you can see that the top part of the window looks lighter since the tint is not adhering very well to the dots yet.
They did use one piece for the rear window. It was not the first C6 they have done in this shop, so they knew about the window indexing and how to defeat it (i.e. engage the latch in the door to fool it into thinking it's closed). The brand of tint they used was Solargard Smoke, I have no idea if it's metallic-based or not but it hasn't caused any problems for my navigation or keyless entry.
I have been in the window film business for over 30 years. When we did my C6 we installed a thin black vinyl on the top where the dots are. It was a tough decision because it does show a slight seam where the film meets the dots however it looks much better then having the white area where the dots are.
Also FYI the film sticks to the dots fine it just doesn't bend in between them, that's why you see the white blotted area. Although on a hot day after the fim has dried you can get some of the film to lay down between the dots we have found on a select few cars the black vinyl is better.

i had my c5 coupe done in wampsville ny for $150
all 3 windows
$35 each side the rest was for the rear.
perfect job! had car 3 yrs and sold it 2 yrs ago to a friend, still perfect
my c6 vert was only $70.
Just got mine done this week with the same as the OP only cost me 125 though. He ended up using one piece for the rear and after a couple days I was able to go over the window and let out all the left over air around the dots.
Looks good. What shop did the work? I am considering it on my Silver Coupe.
Here is what silver looks like with 5% on sides, back and visor. My tinter used the glue he is the one that has been doing it for years. It works perfect. No vinyl or sanding of the dots and it is one piece. The glue works perfect for pulling the tint down over the dots.Took 2 hours to do. He has been tinting over 30 years and doing all my rides for 18 years.
