Side Vent Screens
- You do not need to remove the wheels. It will make it a bit easier if you do but it is not necessary. All you need to do is crank them to the left (on the driver's side) and right (passenger) side so you can access the hole.
- Use a thin flatblade screw driver to pop-out the 5 or 6 push-pin type holders on the inner plastic fender liner. You pop out the middle and then the outer plastic part will just pop out as well. You should be able to do this with very little effort. Just be patient and do not force it. Pry a bit on both sides if you encounter a sticky one...
- There are 3 bolts on the bottom under the fender you will need to remove. The outermost screw/bolt is 7mm (I think) and the inner 2 bolts are 10mm.
- After removing this you can access the compartment where the grills go. There is a small cover in the inside that is held in place with double-sided tape to the outer body panel. Pull both places where it joins away. The tape will restick when you are done.
- Cut the template exactly as pipedreams template shows. Be careful to follow his measurements! I believe the template is a bit short at the top so you will need to extend it a bit. Best bet is to make one and then carefully (from the outside) hold it next to the vent to make sure it will fit correctly.
- Bend the tabs on the grill. As you are looking at the grill, those on the outside bend away from you so they are flush with the outer body panel. Those on the inside bend toward you so they are flush with the body panel in front of the grill.
- Cut several pieces of loose looped industrial strength adhesive velcro (really important stuff here) in strips approx 3" x 1" so that you can wrap them around the tabs on the grill you made. The trick to this (as pipedreams notes) is that the adhesive will join on both sides of the grill. When you are done, you will have each of the tabs completely wrapped in the loose looped velcro with an adhesive-to-adhesive bond holding the velcro securely.
- Carefully clean the inside areas of the vent where you are going to secure the other part of the velcro. You need to use alcohol here and I did it twice to make sure it was really clean.
- Cut a couple of really long strips of the velcro. Make sure they are long enough to run the entire length between and including the tabs.
- Secure these 2 pieces of velcro inside the area next to the vent.
- At this point you should be able to insert the sections of grill and position them easily. The really nice thing about the velcro is that it allows you to re-position the grill repeatedly. But when you are done, it is VERY strong.
- Press the cover that had the double-sided tape back into place.
- Re-attach the inner fender portion you removed.
Stand back and admire the fact that you just made the car look incredibly cool and you did it yourself!
BTW, all the credit on this goes to pipedreams...

Good luck and let me know if you have any problems...
BTW, you can use the same stuff for the front grill. In that case, I used some Krylon yellow. Cut it to 36" x 4 1/2" and use zip ties to hold it in place.
