We have done many long trips in the C5 and now the C6, it's a great car for traveling.
Watch out for those big tire treads laying on the road, especially on interstates. We trashed the hidden spoiler on our C5 twice, and the C6 won't be any better. Just one more reason not to tailgate, gives you time/room to react to road trash.

1. Ensure Cold Tire Press @ 30
2. Check all fluids prior.
3. Use the cruise
Oil temp even at 90 deg has never exceded 220.
Nothing to watch other than LOEs & the scenery.
