Car cover locks
I recently bought a car cover to keep the sea gull droppings off my paint when I head to the beach in my C6. Since my other two vettes are indoor cover cars (i.e. they stay home when the weather is iffy) this is my first outdoor cover. I bought the Stormshield from West Coast Corvettes. My question is, do you guys lock your covers on in public areas? I know it depends on where you park but in general is cover theft a big issue?

If you don't mind tossing away the $200-$300 you paid for the cover, don't bother locking it. But, keep in mind that tying the cover down anyway will prevent it from blowing off in strong winds. It's a PITA sometimes but worth it in the long term IMHO.

Ever since I got the car cover lock last week I have been using it every time I put the cover on. It only takes a minute or two and I have the added peace of mind of not having to worry about the cover blowing away or getting swiped.
The lock and cable are a very cheap accessory (ten bucks?) and well worth it in my mind as I have one less thing to be paranoid about with this car...
