Default need some help

Just purchased my first vette a '06 C6 Z51. I have 300 miles on it have noticed some disturbing fit and finish issues with the interior. The carpet has pulled away from the console by the e-brake and ther appears to be no way to pull it back in place (no excess carpet). Its almost like the console has come loose (it doesn't appear to be) and has sifted, I mean there is a big gap!! or worse the car has twisted (not possible i hope). The ash tray also will not stay closed every bump it pops open. I live in Vegas and it HOT. The ash tray appears to be a heat related issue. Both are minor but with 300 miles not what I expected and hopefully not a sign of things to come. Should I be worried. Any insight would be appreciated. A friend just turned me on the forum, this is GREAT!

I have seen several reports on the ash tray issue. No real resolution that I can see.

Carpet issue should be a Warranty Claim - IMHO

thanks i am headed to dealer this morning. I'm always nervous about having them work on dash / enterior stuff, you know once they take it apart it's never the same, squeeks rattles and stuff. I have been reading many post on the ash tray and it appears this is a common problem and I'm not concerned. the carpet worries me. I poked around in there and there appears to be no excess carpet to just pull it back up and the console does not appear to have moved so I cant quite figure out where this 1 inch gap came from. i hope its not a miss build and it was there when i picked it up and I was too stupid or just distracted by the amazing car and didn't notice it!!

The carpet sounds like a build defect, but it should be easy for the dealer to take out the seat and install a new carpet piece on the passenger side. Good luck!
