How are those exhaust plates held in place for the C6?

Exhaust plates? Do you mean the tunnel plate by chance?

Check out the existing hanger bolts under the rear bumper. You loosen, NOT remove them and slip the exhaust enhancement plate under the bolts. Then re-tighten them. It's sort of a bitchy job because you don't have room, but it only takes about ten minutes and it's a good, solid install.

you can do it laying on the ground but it's a tight fit, (i did it this way,) but it would be easier to raise the rear end a little.
