Default visor warning signs

I have a vert and those *&^%$&*( signs on my visors are ugly. It seems that they are silkscreened into the fabric. I read on this forum of guys removing the "decal" but it doesent appear to be a decal. Any ideas? Can I buy aftermarket "plain" visors?

I removed mine using the wife's hair dryer, a tweezers and some spray on brake cleaner I bought for .99 at Auto Zone. I have a slight outline, but it's far less noticeable than those hugh ugly stickers.

Brake cleaner is like dry cleaning fluid, it doesn't leave any oily residue and the smell evaporates within an hour.

This photo shows how cleanly mine came off and the slight outline, I may try another cleaning to get more of the adhesive off.

Good luck

I would personally rather have the stickers than the outline. Another alternative is the sticker that goes over top of the one there. Sure it's another sticker but to me it looks a bit better.

The outline can be removed completely I just hadn't gotten around to doing it. I'll post a follow up with a completly clean and decal free visor. For me those decal's are like dealer decals, they serve no purpose. You'll change your mind.

Default Cost of New Visors ?

If you order new visors (or screw up the old ones trying to remove the decal) does anyone know what the tab is for new ones? Do they come equipped with the darned sticker too ?

Thanks

I bought overlays from C6DecalDesigns. They look great - can't wait to get the '6 home and install them!

If you're thinking about buying new visors I suggest www.dsvettes.com. I'd had them for a while and they are the best, no stickers, pure leather.

Default Another Solution re: visors

Yep, the seat belt warnings are ugly. I went to a local craft store and bought sheets of black self adhesive felt, cut them slightly oversize and stuck 'em over the warnings. They are hardly noticable now.

If I get time over the weekend I'll tackle it. I've been too busy driving it to care.

They're pressed right into the fabric.

At any rate, they don't look bad, especially since they're sticking up past the windshield facing away from the driver in a vert.

Considering that there are restorers out there who apply the exact amount of paint overspray to a vehicle, I'll consider my intact warning signs one less step for my grandkids to deal with.

I completely removed the driver's side visor and think it's the best single thing I've done to the car. It's especially nice when the top is stowed because it minimizes the visual obstruction at the windshield header. Plus if you're tall you can't really use the visors anyway.

Here are the decals I installed from Steve (C6DecalDesigns). Completely covers up the old stickers, and looks great!

I picked up some Logo'ed stickers for a Prowler to put on the visors from www.streamlinedesign.com. They don't have any for Corvettes, but if you click on the left side "Visor Graphics", they have a "Bowtie" and a "Bowtie/Flames" for a possible choice.
If people start sending then e-mails requesting some Corvette choices, maybe they will come up with something.

Forum sponsor C6DecalDesigns has several different good-looking decals, including some with your name printed on them. I got 2 from them to cover up my OEM decals without taking them off.

Check with a forum sponsor first instead of wasting time with a non-forum sponsor who doesn't have a very big vette inventory.
