Default Emissions Problems

I did the exact same thing with a SLP MAF on my 98 Camaro SS and within 100 miles I got a check engine light. The OBDII computer knows the volume of air that is suppose to flow. The increased size of the MAF allows too much air which is outside of the OBDII parameters. In turn, the OBDII thinks there is a problem and gives the warning. On another note, I checked with the dealer about adding a K&N to my C6. They said it would not effect the warranty, however, they have had issues with too much oil on the K&N filter getting on the MAF causing a check eng light and that is not covered.
