Corvette Leather
I've heard a few people on this forum comment on how cheap Corvette leather is.
I have never had leather on any other car except my Vette so I have no basis for a comparison but is this really the case? Is Corvette leather really cheap?

I hate leather seats. I've had leather in every car for the last 10 years as they never offer them any other way. It all feels like plastic to me. The piping on the side of the seats in the LS430 I will be getting rid of if the Corvette ever arrives has worn off twice in 18 months, so the Corvette leather can't be all bad. I much prefer cloth seats like in the old days.

What the @#$% and waste of a post...If you haven't "seen" leather then how can you compare it to anything.
Adrian, your question is a good one. No, the leather is not cheap; just look at the price you paid for the car. I've owned many cars with leather and I didn't keep them long enough to worry about it. The torch red leather I had in my C5 seemed to be top quality leather that wore really well. The leather in my C6 seems to be of comparable quality. Cheap or expensive, I don't care; I'm just thankful to be the proud owner of an American icon. Corvettes forever and save the wave!!!
My wife drives a G35 Inifinti and I'm not impressed with the leather in the car. It's ok but nothing great and doesn't feel softer than my vette. I like the leather in my 4Runner better than either car... As long as the leather holds up I really don't care that much anyway.

Try setting on black leather while wearing shorts and your car has been sitting outside on a phoenix summer day. If your not careful you could wind up in the hospital. Don't have that problem with cloth seats.

I'm not bitching, but adding ventilated seating would only enhance the Vettes image as being a top notch performer and a slick vehicle with plenty of creature comforts.
My primary disapointment is the quantity of leather on the seats-one little perforated strip in the middle. The sides, bolsters, and thigh support are all vinyl, which on my seats are showing a little wear at less than 1000 miles. In two years when the car is paid off it will upgraded.
IMO, the leather on the seats is OK, nothing special but certainly not terrible. What bothers me is the horribly cheap crapola they used on the shifter and hand brake boots, plus the rubbery substance used on the doors.
