Default 'Vert speaker panel removal - wind deflector

Just purchased the GM wind screen/deflector. Instructions say to remove the speaker panel in order to raise the carpet & remove trim pieces behind the seats, but no instruction on how to do that. Went thru the shop manual last night & didn't find any reference to removal of the speaker panel. I could probably figure out which fastners to pull once I start the job, but it would be easier if someone out there has already done it. Anyone??

Thanks.....

Default Wind deflector

I wish I could help you, because I installed mine about 4 months ago, but I can't remember what I did actually. I have found though that I seldom use mine. It looks better than it works. I will say it works good with the windows up though, but with the windows down, not much difference. Best thing is to just get into it. One hint is to get some lock washers to screw it into place. mine back off, luckily I checked it before it flew off.

Thanks for the input.....I've seen conflicting posts as to whether or not the windscreen works, so I'll give it a try. If nothing else, as you say, it should look "cool" . Also found the notes for removing the speaker panel in an old PM, so I'm set....will post a thread once it's done.

Could you share some of that info, any way to get a copy of the instructions?
