It does not void the warranty, but why not have GM fix the car so you don't need it...........
GM can't fix it , because they don't know what the problem is. I had 2 DBS on the original battery and 2 on a battery replaced by the dealer. I decided to spend $70 and have to worry about DBS again. So far so good.
I have on 05 MN6 convertible and resisted getting a priority start because DBS would never happen to me. It did after 9 months so then I had to go to the hassle of dealing with a dead battery.
Lessons learned here is if you have an 05 MN6 get the priority start and save yourself a lot of trouble.
Odds are for most of us,once installed the PriortyStart will never be called upon to engage, but the thought of having some gorilla fry my electronics trying to jump my car,or damage it hauling it to the dealer is the stuff the worst nightmares are made of(not to mention what might happen when it gets there!).I have not had to leave my car at the dealership yet for repairs, but dread trying to communicate to them how PS works so as to avoid getting the car jumped anyway when they park it without going through the proper protocols and PS engages. That is why I put mine on proactively however-to try and avoid the dealership experience as much as possible.
