Precision vs. Cobalt

Precision vs. Cobalt
I've seen several references to color code 27 as both Precision Red and also as Cobalt...and although I assume they are similar, my guess is that they're neither identical or interchangeable - - -right ?
The reprint/replica of my window sticker from NCM show Precision (it's an early 05, produced in September 04) . . but the reprint MSO also from NCM shows Cobalt - -with the same paint code.
I was recently going to order the color matched Colgan bra, and they show a match for color 27 - -but call it Cobalt.

Precision is what GM decided to call it on the Corvette. Cobalt is what the paint manufacturer calls it.

I know the interior color that was originally intended to match the Precision red is still called Cobalt red...they still use it for the interiors and it is a slightly different shade than the Victory red exterior.
