Is it just me or do vette owners in FL seldom wave. I am batting about 2 out of 10 from this weekend! Makes you feel like an idiot when they just look at you.
I live in Orlando/Oviedo, FL (near UCF) and have a 95 LT1. Every C6 I have passed has exchanged the wave, but very rarely will a C5 ever wave back. As for C4s it seems that the old women I see driving those don't tend to wave back, but every guy does and some younger women. Just my experience with a C4 in this area of FL.
I have found in Naples that your lucky if you get a return wave 10% of the time. It actually start getting me to the point to where I was not bothering. I figured it is because there are so many around, along with some owners that don't know a darn thing about them. I met a lot of enthusiasts there, but I met just as many people that got one because it was a relitively inexpensive top down sports car, and could care less about the history of the car.

I always get the wierd look from fellow vette owners....
I always wave and seem to find a number of people will wave back once I wave to them. I am not sure they would have waved first.
The place I don't get a lot of waves is on US19 and I don't blame anyone. One second with your eyes off the road in front of you and someone from the far left lane will decide they want to go the the store on the right side and just turn.

'bout the same here in the Parkland, Coral Springs, Deerfield area.
It does seem to be about 50/50 in Orlando. I usually miss people due to my wife nagging me while driving. She seems to think if i'm not looking at her when she's talking i'm not paying attention. Thus missing the wave. I have lost count how mant times i'm watcher her talk then out of the blue she says "Oh look another Vette". By that time the guy/gal has blew by me.
On a cool note I did get a wave and a revv from a hot young lady(early 20's) in a black Z06. Made my day.
Most people don't wave here in Tampa. I'm as guilty as all the others. 1) So many Corvettes that they aren't unusual.
2) Dark tinted windows tend to make it hard to tell if others are waving or not.
3) Mind is on other things (like the traffic around you) and I'm not looking for cars coming the other way.
4) Divided roads.
I'm sure there are other reasons as well. I wave occasionally, especially if I happen to see someone wave to me. Otherwise, it's just a wasted effort.

It don't take a lot of effort to put your had up.
I can understand missing a few because of traffic etc. though.
Hello!
I am new here. I pick my car up this week!
Didn't know anything about the wave, I will be sure to wave!
Deanna
Great, Deanna! I've only had mine for a month so I wave like crazy any time I see a Vette. I'm batting about 900. Oklahoman's are friendly that way. I'm curious about something. How did you find out about the Forum? A friend told me about it when I started looking for my dream car close to a year ago. He said it was great site of like minded, friendly folks with a tremendous base of knowledge. It's all true and I'm glad to see that you found your way here. Welcome! Keep us posted on the car. We want details and pics as soon as available!
