Default Wheel / TPM Sensor Change Question

Does anyone know if the computer has to be reset if you change wheels with one set of TPM sensors to another set using different TPM sensors and then back to the originals? I know you'd have to reset the first change for the TPM system to work, but I was hoping the computer would recognize the original set after driving on the second set for a while without going through the reset process. Please let me know if you've had any experience doing this. Thanks! (I also put this in the Tech Section).

You will NOT have to reprogram them again so your thinking is correct. It is only new sensors that have never been programmed before.

Each time you put wheels on you have to set the sensors. The car computer memory only recognizes one sensor for each wheel.

You can install the sensors in different wheels and there is no problem. If you have sensors in two different sets of wheels, each time you change them, the sensors must be set.

Wrong, the computer only recognizes one set of 4 sensors.

I know what you're saying, but I think kking1997 (above) is getting at what I'm asking. My hope is that if I go to my second set and drive it for a while and then put the the original set back on that the computer recognizes now, I won't have to reset. I guess the short way of asking would be.....Will the second set confuse the computer into requiring a reset even when I put the originals back on?

Default info

I will be able to chime in on this in another week with my findings. I have my track set on right now with "excited" sensors (working) and I'll be going back to my regular street (original set) next week after my track event this Saturday.

I went ahead and bought a the programming tool from forum member "beezeye" who has a few left at a fraction of the cost.

Because I will be going back and forth (with probably a 3rd set) I figure I'd go ahead and bite the bullet and buy tool.

Bob is a super nice guy to work with.
