Does the navigation system play mp3 files?
I am looking to buy a 2005 corvette and really want the navigation option, but want to make sure I can play mp3 files on it. Can it play them? I have heard different things such that you have to take it to a dealer for them to upgrade so that it will. Also, is satelite radio a standard feature with the navigation system or is it an option?

2005 Nav will NOT play MP3 files unless it's had an upgrade. XM radio is not a part of any option. It's a stand-alone option which cost $325 extra. If the car has an XM radio, there will be an antenna on top of the car.

And just in case you look at 2006's, the XM antenna is no longer visible. It is hidden in the outside rear-view mirrors.

Any dealer "should" be able to perform the update under warrranty. There was the thread a while ago here were you could download the 2 CD's and do it yourself. Or the 2 CD's have a GM part # that you can buy for something like $10.
