Why lower it anymore, it's already very low to begin with. I have to ease off my driveway to keep from scraping the front spoiler and it's only about an inch drop off.
Lowering will not effect anything if it is done right. I had mine lowered yesterday. I don't have pics yet but I will this weekend. The guy who does all my performance work lowered the rear 1.5 inches. When he lowered the rear, the front end as expected, went up so he simply lowered the front enough to level it out. Before he started he measured everything and the front scraper was exactly 4 inches off the ground. When he got through, the front scraper was still 4 inches off the ground. I had the wheel alignment done today and now everything is as it should be. It truly looks awesome!
I'm considering having the back of mine lowered on the stock bolts so that the gap between tire top and fender is the same front and back. As it is, the gap is almost 3/4" bigger in the back.
Does anyone have a close-up picture of the air deflector? I went to the dealer to get a nut/bolt for one side of the air deflector and dealer says there is not suppose to be a bolt/nut connecting the three black pieces of the rubber air deflector. The passenger side has a nut/bolt connecting the two pieces, but not the driver’s side.
I recently replaced both corner "valance" pieces. I don't know what happened to them, I just happened to notice one day that they were no longer there. Here is what I discovered:
1) Different dealers charge different prices for the same part, and one side cost more than the other. Prices ranged from $12.70 for one side at one dealer up to $21 for the same part at another dealer. A third dealer wanted $16+.
2) The screws were still there- the head wasn't much larger than the hole in the piece it was supposed to hold on. I put on washers that give about an additional 1/16th inch all the way around the screw head.
3) It is not a screw and bolt that holds the side pieces to the center piece. It is a fastener that looks kind of like a screw with a big head, but is is ribbed (plastic) and pushes in from the front of the center valance through the end hole of the corner valance. It is NOT shown in the parts sheet. They had to go in back and match it up, and the part they found is about 1/2" longer than the part I had removed. The part number on my receipt is 010121502 and was 36 cents.
