I've looked everywhere in the manual and I can't find it.
What media format will the nav accept for a MP3 disk.
I have a double burn DVD burner so I can do anything from CD-R to DVD-DD+R
I want to get the largest collection on one disk without sacrificing quality.
Thanks,
Al
If the '07 is the same as the '05 you can use CD-R. The DVD slot is specific to the Nav map disk and I haven't tried CD-RW so I can't address that one for you.
Has anyone tried to put a DVD with MP3s in the CD slot?
I know I could try, but I'm just to lazy to burn a DVD just to figure out it doesn't work.
I have only burned CDRs, glad to hear CDRWs work to. I'll start using those from now on.
By the way, the track list only displays the 8 first characters of the titles. Is that the way it is, or am I burning the CDRs the wrong way?
mpuzach, do you know about the track list only showing the 8 first characters and if there is a way to display the title in full?
I now there are several format for burning CDRs (joliet, ...) so maybe I'm not using the correct one.. or maybe it's just the way it is.
I've heard of that happening but I can't explain it other than to say that it's a function of the software used to burn the MP3 disc. I use iTunes to burn MP3s and it displays up to 22 characters. You must be careful to ensure that no line of a track's data (song title, artist, album name) exceeds 22 characters or the Corvette's CD player won't recognize that track; it will be as though the track isn't even on the disc. If you want to record a track with a line of data that exceeds 22 characters, you'll need to manually shorten that line before burning the MP3 disc. Hope this helps.

Are you talking about the display when the track is playing, or when browsing through the disc?
When the track is playing, it shows the full title, album and artist but when I browse the CD, it only displays the 8 first characters of the folder name or the file name.
Here's the insructions for a 2005. I would think they're still the same.
Using an MP3
MP3 Format
When creating an MP3 disc, the following is a list of
guidelines. If the customer does not follow these
guidelines when recording a CD-R(W), the CD may
not play.
• ID3 tag information is displayed by the radio if it is
available. The radio supports ID3 tag information
v1.0 or v1.1. The radio will display a filename,
song name, artist name, album name, and
directory name.
• Maximum 32 characters, including spaces, in a file
or folder name.
• Maximum number of folders is 500 with 500 files
with a maximum hierarchy of eight folders. It is
recommended to keep the depth of the folders to
a minimum in order to keep down the complexity
and confusion I trying to locate a particular
folder during playback.
• The files can be recorded on a CD-R or CD-RW
with a maximum capacity of 700MB.
• DVD with MP3 are not playable on this system.
• The radio will not play a mix mode CD-R/RW, a
disc recorded with both *.cda and *.mp3 files.
• The player will support a disc with multiple sessions,
and it is required that the disc be finalized. It is
recommended to record the disc all at once.
• Recording format mode 2 or mode 2XA with Romeo
or Joliet file system is not supported with this player.
• All applicable Mode 1 recording formats are
supported.
• MPEG 2.5 is not supported with this player. File
formats MPEG 1 and MPEG 2 with all bit rates
(including variable) except less than 16kbps are
supported with this player.
• Long files or folder names or a combination of a large
number of files and folders may cause the player to
be unable to play up to the maximum number of files
or folders or affect the reading speed and time
to play.
My experience with iTunes is that any track with more than 22 characters in the song title, artist name, or album name will not be recognized by the Corvette's CD player.
From: Muncie, Indiana ...... Can I buy an amplifier on time ... I ani't got no money now but I'll pay you before I die

That is a problem with iTunes. I use Nero burnig ROM. With it the CD player has on problem dispalying 32 characters. And will recognized files with more but just cuts them off.
