Looking at all the other GM cars with this steering wheel (G6, HHR, Cobalt and other's) I noticed they ALL have controls on both spokes and the 07 C6 only has them on the right hand spoke. Aside from looking "unbalanced" what feature(s) are missing?
Then add to this no new (improved) fob and one has to wonder what Chevy was thinking? Seems like another half hearted attempt to rush something into production.
Steering wheel controls are a good idea but their placement on the C6is exactly where many A6 drivers whould rest the base of their thumb when using the paddles.
The controls that I like on the steering wheel spokes are the cruise controls, audio controls, and navigation (like Chrysler 300C). Controls on the steering wheels takes your eyes off the road for a much shorter period of time. I especially like cruise controls on the steering wheel. Just a flick of the thumb to set, resume speed, increase/decrease speed. I wish GM would move away from cruise controls from the stalk on the steering column.

That's exactly why I DON'T like the cruise on the wheel! Unless every brand put them in the same spot and worked the same way.
And that's also why I like the GM stalk. It's the same in all GM cars, same placement and function. I have used that stalk without a problem for at least 16 years, probably longer.
But my Ford motorhome, even after 12 years, I had to frequently look down to find the cruise buttons. Same with my wife's Jag, and we've had that 3 years now.
I agree with your concerns. I waited for '07 in anticipation of steering wheel controls and have decided to order w/o the option primarily because of the placement being on the right side of the wheel which imo is not ideal, especially if you have a manual tranny. Aside from that, I was dissappointed to find I would have to order a 3LT w/Bose just to get the controls.....not worth it to me so 2LT with no controls it is for me.
