Default radiator support bracket

In the process of replacing the missing left air dam strip I noticed the radiator support bracket had broken and moved about so that I could not align the left and middle air dam strips. Replacement seems in order but I don't know if this is a do it yourself project of best left to the experienced. The dealer wants $450 to replace the bracket. Your thoughts please.

The radiator support if replace can be looked at as Frame Damage at any auction in the US. Make sure the dealer doesn't do it so no record.

How the hell did you do that? Did you go over a curb or something? I've scraped mine on the driveway, but it seems to be pretty sturdy. No real damage.

Over 12,000 miles it has bottomed out a few times with nothing really jarring. It seems steep drives often get the best of the ground clearance.I have seen a couple of these broekn parts at Vette gatherings here in SC so I don't think it is uncommon?
