Default My First Vette

06, Victory Red, Vert, Black Interior w/ black drop top, A6 3LT. I LOVE this car. I've wanted a vette all my life. Love the old vettes but too much work for my tastes. Got sucked in to the paint sealer scam. My dealer told me I wouldn't have to wax it for 5 years! Now i no this is bull****, but what are some of your takes on paint sealer and waxing and what not

Dealer tacked on a "paint sealer" cost to my invoice. First thing out of my mouth is "That's a markup!" They didn't even blink, that was the first cost to go when we began negotiation.

My black C6 looks great, but I don't think there's anything to this "sealer" they installed.

Congrats on a great car....I have the identical Vette vert, only in an '05.

Shoulda told them to keep their sealer, you'd take your chances w/o it.

Congrats on the new car- you're gonna love it.

As for the sealer, well, I hope you at least got a kiss with it.

Congratulations on your new "ride"
As far as the sealer goes, I can't see going 5 years without having the true pleasure of lovingly waxing and admiring "the happy glow/shine" your baby will give you...

Congrats and welcome to the "club"!!! You've come to the right place to begin your fun! Loads of info here (as well as a load of another variety as well).

Dealer applied sealants = Products such as Rejex, Zaino and Maguiar's NXT are all very good if not better...and way cheaper! Don't forget to:

Good color/model choice by the way!

My first one, too and I LOVE it! Paint sealer is complete . Wax it with a good quality product, I like Meguiars Gold Class, many swear by Zaino, and this RejeX stuff has a following. Nothing "seals" paint. Wax protects it. Have fun!
