So far, but the car takes a good 2 to 3 seconds (of dead air) before it fires up. Is this normal? Or should I be worried?

Never heard of this. Mine is almost 'instant on'. Does yours crank for 2 seconds then start? Or does just nothing happen for 2 seconds?
The new switches take 2 extra seconds to shut down I heard. Is this an '07?

'05 16,000 miles, MN6........Does nothing, nada, zippo for 2-3 seconds then starts. It's almost as though the battery is on it's way out...but not yet.

Is this a new problem? If so, it may well be a battery problem. Or maybe a bad ground. I'd have it checked!
Giving it a thorough charge or even jumping from another car may give you a quick answer.

About a month now. Just haven't had the time to take it in. I guess if I don't want to get stuck, I need to find the time.
My 07 does the same thing but not 2 to 3 seconds...maybe like 1 second at most. I noticed that all three of the 06's I test drove before ordering my 07 did the same thing. Sounds normal to me.
