Default Headlights too high?

When I drive at night I am constantly getting flashed (with oncoming high beams) when I am on low. Is this common or are my lights to high? LOVE MY CAR!

Assuming you are not using your hi-beams - the only way to know is to get them checked.

If the rest of you do not get flashed then either I need adjustment or the wife needs to loose weight

Only time I expect to get flashed is when I come up over a raise in the road and meet an oncoming car. But even that has not happened. Definitely no flashes on a level road. I'd get the alignment checked...

Our car has only been flashed a couple of times in 10k miles, so I'd recommend getting yours checked. Might be considered a warranty repair, or maybe the dealer will just be nice to you and do it free anyway during an oil change. If you trust them to do that...

I'd check the adjustment.

It used to happen all the time but now it is less. The lights are just so bright that many oncoming drivers think you must have your brights on.

I have gotten flashed at several times while on lowbeams, but I just chalk it up to other drivers not being used to the brightness of HID headlights.

You may want to try washing your headlights, it has been suggested that the light scatters or diffracts somehow if your headlights are dirty.

Happens all the time, it is the HID.

Blast them with your brights when they hit you... Eventually they'll learn.

Good thought... I wonder if Rejex'ed headlamps deflect or change the intensity also...

When I look at mine in the daylight, you can see the rejex tint over the lamps.

... Interesting!

Default Blame the xenon!

You might want to get the adjustment checked, but I suspect it's the fact that they are a very bright white. Here's the description from the 'Vette website:

Xenon High-Intensity Discharge Headlamps
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The low beams are a xenon, high-intensity discharge projector lamp coupled with tungsten-halogen high beams. At 900 lumens of output, the units provide significant forward lighting power. The low beams also have a spread pattern that is wider.

That's normal . They are very bright and the plastic cover is new and clear. Just flash back to show them they're off.

If you have lowered your ride height you may have changed the original "rake" thus changed the horizontal level of the beams. The adjustment to fix is fairly easy to do yourself if you don't trust the stealership to handle.

Does anyone know if the C6 HIDs have the auto-leveling system? If not that could be another potential culprit, i.e. all it would take is loading some heavy suitcases in the back and the nose of the car will point up and the headlights will blind people.

Because the HID are so bright, I expected to get flashed all the time, but it has only happened once in 7 months. I'd get yours checked.
