Default Hatch Release button doesn't seem to work...

The one above the license plate. I can't get it to open the rear hatch. Is there a reason (setting perhap) that would prevent the button from working?

The obvious question: did you have your fob with you when trying the button to open the hatch?

Several here have had problems with the rear hatch button. Does the one on the fob or the one on the dash open the rear hatch?

Check the C6 FAQ sticky.

Did you try putting your key in it?

You must have the fob with you outside the car.

I have the same problem, the button hasn't worked 2 months after I bought the coupe, It was working on and off. Emegency hand brake is always on when I exit, and the FOB is always on me. Got to take it to the dealer.

Dirt/dust. Flaw in the design. This has been a problem all along.

Mine was flaky and ultimately failed; it was replaced.

Still, I notice that if I'm not standing right behind the car, it won't obey. (No trouble with the doors or starter, though.)

Wow, I never even knew this button existed before today. Now I have an easy way to get into the hatch to get my California duster without having to fumble around in my pocket for the fob. Thanks forum...

That's it! Takes less than 10 minutes.
At some point in time it will happen to everyone, unless the design of that button changes...

Well, I had the parking brake ON and I was behind the car w/the FOB in my pocket. Doesn't work. Must the the dust-in-the-switch problem that everyone talked about. Pretty sad that the first time I ever went to use the button, it already didn't work.

Time for the dealer.
