This weekend I noticed that the black interior A-pillars are bubbling on both sides. It's both visible & palpable. The car is only 10 weeks old.
I'll be discussing this with the good folks at Chevy shortly.
This happen to anyone else?
This is my first American car in years after swearing I wouldn't drive American. I love the way it drives but little crap like this drives me nuts.
Not a big deal, mine have been replaced twice. The GM vendor is having a few adhesion quality issues that aren't evident when parts are inspected. Takes heat and time for the problem to occur. the parts just snap out and GM will replace them as long as you have warrenty.
This has been reported by several CF members over the last several months. The dealer will replace them. My take on this is a change in ALL adhesives used on the interior of the C6 to be more environmentally friendly. This was mentioned during my NCM delivery tour.
It was mentioned that the "vinyl fog" was greatly reduced with these new adhesives and even some claims of cancer causing by products of the old adhesives. That's another reason the C6 doesn't have a strong NEW CAR smell.
Guess this is called progress. In any event the dealer will replace the defective A pillars.
Me too. Also check the vinyl piece that goes across the top of the windshield. Mine is bubbling up their as well. So A-pillar and cross bar on windshield will all have to be replaced. Damn environmentalists, what's a little cancer if it keeps your car in one piece. J/K of course.
Mine too. I'll have them replaced when I take the top in. I just can't bring myself to to turn my car over to the dealer. I know they'll screw something else up. Here's the other thread from the forum http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...hlight=bubbles
I have it on both A pillars at the base but not bad enough to have them replaced yet. I'll wait until warranty is close to running out and maybe by then GM will figure out the problem as the replacements right now will continue to have the same issue.
