I have a new '06 Z51 MN6. My previous car was a '67 with factory side exhausts. I absolutely loved the loud exhausts. The new car is very different. On one hand, I like how tame and civilized it is until you really accelerate. On the other hand, I think I would like to hear a little more than what comes stock. I am not looking for the super loud, here-he-comes sound. Just something a little more throaty.
But, I don't know what any of these mods sound like - Borla, B & B(?) Corsa, etc. How does one decide? I see that Borla is offering to install theirs for $100 if you have it done at Carlisle, which I always go to.
Intersted in any suggerstions or ways I can hear the real deal before making a decision.
I just got the B&B Bullets for my C6, they are very deep and agressive sounding. If you go to mamotorworks.com/corvette you can hear some of the exhaust systems available for the C6. They also have a decibel chart that rates the exhausts from 1-3 based on their loudness, the Bullets got all 3's- no other exhausts did! I would recommend the Bullets because they are loud when the car idles and accelerates but they are pretty quite when you are cruising down the highway.
I just installed the Bullets today. tips looks awesome, sound is WiCkEd! (no comparison to the sound clip online)
Wouldn't go any other way personally, some people swap out the Bullets as their wives complain they are too loud, but, if it's too loud, then you're too old
I love the loud sound, but if you want something less aggressive, I would go with the Corsa Sports or the Borla Touring system, or the B&B Route 66, I'm partial to the B&B sound as well as the tip appearance

Borla Touring is what I have and it was only slightly louder from the outside when new. After few thousand miles, it's somehow uncorked and sounds just about perfect. I seems to be loudest at idle with A/C on for some reason. Otherwise, it's just throaty enough, but without pounding your ears constantly.
I assume you can probably find someone getting it installed at Carlisle and hear it in person?

I have the factory side exhaust on my 65 and Bullets on my 05. Believe it or not the Bullets are louder than the side exhaust!! I really love both but if you don't want them that loud but still want muscular go with the B&B Route 66. The quality of the B&B is excellent.
i got the bb headers and prt bullett exhaust. perhaps not the best choice for a convertible. very loud and mean.. i love the sound but i'm fairly certain i am doing permanent damage to my ears. you might call it a situation
