Default Window not closing 100%

I'm pretty new to the C6 and I've mostly been driving with the top down... Drove with the top up today and noticed that when I open the door, the window goes down by about 1/2 inch to open the door. When I close the door, the window would go back to the fully closed position. However, it stopped going back up when closing the door today.. Is this a problem or did I mess anything up on the setup? (I played around with the options)...

Any help is appreciated!

Another question, does the C6 have the "easy entry" function that the C5's used to have? If yes, how do I activate it?

Olivier.

Your dead battery has caused the indexing window to reset. I'll dig for the procedure, brb.

Here you go:

Power Window Initialize
After a power reconnect such as battery replacement,
the window index-up feature will not function until
the system is initialized. Once power is restored,
do the following:
1. Close the door.
2. Raise the window by pulling up the switch.
3. Hold the up switch for three seconds after the
window is closed. Release the switch.
4. Hold the up switch again for three seconds
and release.

Option button on the DIC. If it is turned on since you have a MN6 you will still need to press the "1" button on the door to activate. It is only auto on the automatic cars to prevent unwanted movement when you have a foot on the clutch. More safety, Gov. B.S.

Auto Memory Recall (Automatic Transmission
only): If your automatic transmission vehicle has the
memory package, you may have this option. This option
allows the driver’s seat, the telescopic steering
column, if equipped, and the outside rearview mirrors to
automatically move to the current driver’s set position
when the engine starts.
3-68
Press the OPTION button until AUTO MEMORY
RECALL appears on the display, then press the RESET
button to scroll through the following modes:
• YES
• NO (default)
If you choose YES, the driver’s seat, the outside
rearview mirrors and the telescopic steering column, if
equipped, positions are recalled when you turn the
ignition on.
If you choose NO, this option will turn off.
When the mode you want is selected, press the
OPTION button to set your choice and advance to the
next personal option.
Auto Exit Recall: If your vehicle has the memory
package, you may have this option. This option allows
the driver’s seat and telescopic steering column, if
equipped, to automatically move to the current driver’s
exit position when one of the following occurs:
• The vehicle is turned off or in Retained Accessory
Power (RAP) or ACCESSORY mode and the
driver’s door is opened.
• The vehicle is turned off or in RAP and the unlock
button on the keyless access transmitter is
pressed.
Press the OPTION button until AUTO EXIT RECALL
appears on the display, then press the RESET button to
scroll through the following modes:
• YES
• NO (default)
If you choose YES, when you turn the ignition off and
open the driver’s door or press the unlock button on the
keyless access transmitter, the seat and the telescopic
steering wheel, if equipped, will return to their stored exit
positions for an easy exit or an easy entrance when
returning to the vehicle.
The seat and steering wheel will only return to the
stored driving position if you press the appropriate
memory button or activate the auto memory recall
feature.
If you choose NO, this option will turn off.
When the mode you want is selected, press the
OPTION button to set your choice and advance to the
next personal option.

You have to program it for your driving position and for your exit position. There are step by step instructions in the owner's manual. If your car is an automatic, that's all you have to do. When you get in and push the start button, the seat will move to the driving position you've programed for that fob (driver 1 and driver 2 can be different). When you shut off the engine and push the button to open the door, the seat will automatically move to the exit position.

If it is a manual, you have to let the car know when to make the moves by pushing the #1 or #2 button on the door to move the seat to the driving position for driver 1 and driver 2 respectively, and hit the middle button for exit (parking brake has to be set for the latter to work). GM didn't want the seat to be moving when you try to start the manual car because of the need to firmly depress the clutch, and they didn't want you getting out of the car without setting the parking brake.

Note that the car saves separate settings for other things too depending on which fob is being used (and which button is pushed in the case of manual cars). Mirror position, steering wheel position, radio settings, etc. These will all automatically change with the easy entry/exit settings. Remember to have all these things set the way you want them for driver 1 and driver 2 when you program your seat settings. They're all saved at the same time by holding down the appropriate button until it beeps 3 times.

I thought it was a pain in the butt, so I stopped using the 'entry' feature thingy. Btw, you mean to say your '68 doesn't have this?
