Just thought I would let all ya'll know about a very good price on a front billet grill I found on Ebay. I had been looking off and on for one,
almost bought the one Ecklers has for $199.00+shipping and I found this
one for $79.00+shipping at a company called Mr.Grill. I just received it,
and it looks exactly like the one Ecklers sells for less than 1/2 price.
I am almost finished with my mods, and will post pics when done. Hope
this helps anyone that has wanted a front grill for their car.
Unless Mr. Grille came out with a different one than they had before, the Mr. Grille billet grille is brushed aluminum and not polished and has more horizontal bars (10 compared to 6) than the one Ecklers and other Corvette parts places sell.
By the way I have the Ecklers style and had it on the car for a couple of weeks and took it off. Just didn't care for the look. I'll sell it to anyone who gives me a reasonable offer.

So, in your opinion, is it a reasonable grill and does the 10 bar look better or worse than the 6 bar?
PM sent.

Haven't seen one in person. The 10 bar will look more like a solid piece from further away than the 6 bar. What looks better or worse is a matter of personal taste. Same goes for polished or unpolished, depends what look your going for.

I went with the Racemesh grille myself
Did the same...easy to install and looks great! Went with the matching side screens also. They were a little harder to install but I really like the look.

The best billet grille on Ebay is from Josh Greenwalt (Seller name Logitech ) It's a six bar well finished high polished aluminum.
It's shown below with the addition of a Flexchrome HR077C molding to get rid of the floating look.
Recently sold the grille to another forum member as I intended to install a Mercado round hole gille. Wasn't satisfied with the Mercado, so I reordered another Billet at $79.99. This go round I'll paint the billet matte textured black and frame with a black Flexchrome trim. The mercado round hole will be installed behind the billet. I'll post pix when I install
It's a high grade trim product. You need to cut to the width of the lower grille plus the length required to do the two sides. If I recall about 44" +/-. You need to make a compound curve, which takes more patience then skill. Start at either the left or right upper corner, peel back only enough of the tape mask to make it around the curve at the lower corner to the straight area of the lower grille. Hold it in place for a while, till you know it's secure. Continue along the straight section, then repeat the next curve (in reverse) to the top edge of the grille. Very important to use alchohol to clean the surface that the trim will attach to, if you don't the tape may not adhere properly

I really like the finished look this one gives with the molding around it, maybe I need to do this with mine, sure like the look, and thanks for the pics.
I went and looked at my Grill again, and I apologize as it does have 10 bars, and not 6 as was said earlier. I like the 6 bar with the flex trim around it the best.
