I haven't heard about Jeep owners waving. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and I've never seen anyone waving. I know that street bikes acknowledge each other.
Most old English sports car owners wave (Triumphs, MGs etc.) I think that is where the "wave" actually originated. I had a Triumph in Calif in the late 50s and every sports car driver waved...
I used to ride a GXS-R super sport bike and I noticed that the Harley riders didn't really like to wave to the sportbike crowd. Just like in the Vette, I always waved, but I hardly ever get one in response. Am I still doing something wrong here? I never get a wave back.
Most of the waves from the Jeep owners are the one's that have the CJ's etc. I had a fully restored '76 CJ7 before the vette and got waves from others all the time. Just a much better feeling getting the wave in the vette though!!!

I think it is a Wrangler thing. My wife has a Wrangler and jumped on me once when I was driving it for not returning a wave from another Jeepster, Cherokees don't count.

I have a Harley, two actually, and I wave at sport bikes, trikes and even mopeds. That said, I find that when I'm in the Vette a lot of sport bike riders wave and, of course, I return the wave.
