Default coolant temps

stock car nothing moded. 1500 miles on it. I have had the coolant temps go as high as 220-225 in stop and go traffic on 95(+) degree days. Is there anything wrong with my car? I am reading about guys with s/c on their cars and not going over 220.

Default Thats normal

I get about the same readings most of the time. Had mine for 6 months now. The oil temp runs even a little hotter. I was concerned and ask CF members and got ta thumbs up.

NORMAL! Guy's with mods usually put in 160 stats and have other computer work done, but stock is stock and if you notice, the moment you have forward movement, the temps drop.ALL IS WELL WITH YOUR VETTE!

Although I am seldom in stop and go traffic, when I am, those temps seem to be normal. It's HOT down here in Texas.

Of course, the Z51 oil cooler will have no impact on coolant temps.

I recently sat through a 35 mile detour that took 2 1/2 hours in 105 degree heat off I-35 in Oklahoma because of a grass fire. Highest coolant temp was 216, with A/C going full blast when at one point I moved less that 4 miles in an hour. Your temps sound high to me.

Yep its hot. I heard it has something to do with the emissions rate at that temp, makes the car better rates...

Who knows?
