I know that it has been talked about many times, but I can't find the thread about replacing tires, so please don't flame the rookie.
Time to replace my tires on my 2005 Coupe, non Z51 car, but with the Magnetic Selective Ride package. I am down to either the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-2 or Michelin Pilot Sport PS2. The car is a summer drive only, but will be driven both rain and shine. Does anyone have and experience or suggestions to which is better overall?
If my C6 was not my daily driver I would have the PS2's on it in a heartbeat! However, I am putting the GS-2 runflats on my Z51 this week as at 9100 the supercars are worn out! AND, I drive 70% freeway....Need a few more miles on tires for my buck. Good luck with your decision!
Go with the PS2s. I ran the OEM run flats on my 99 C5; replaced with PS 2s, and am now on my second ste of PS 2s on the '99 that now has 125K miles. The change in performance with the installation of the PS 2s was absolutely remarkable.
Better wet & dry handling, better ride (no more rear end hop to the side when hitting a bump in a hard corner) and much less road noise.
My '05 C6 with 25K miles will soon be upgraded to the PS 2s. Can't wait!
What do you mean, not in rain? I had read that one of the better features for the PS2 was that they were better in the rain than the GS2 I had read that the GS2 are run flats, and the PS2 are not but that the PS2 were better in the rain. Is that not your experience?

Actually, I've never had a better rain tire, of any king than the GS. Those wide grooves evacuate water better than sedan All Weather tires. The harder it rains, the better they work.
I don't know about you but the hassle of not having a spare tire in the back would make me uncomfortable. There are pros and cons to the runflats but they will not leave you stranded when you least expect it.
