This is related to my last post, but I am now considering the flowmasters for my C6. I have an 05 A4. Anybody out there have this setup and can comment to me about drone in the car while cruising? I want to have a deeper/throatier sound, but I don't want a headache while cruising.
I have an 05 (A4) with the 3.15 rear. I put the flowmasters on a few months ago. Although they sounded great outside, the interior drone was terrible between 1600 and 1800rpms. My wife was very upset. Anyway..I already had a Loyds cargo mat in the rear which may or may not have helped some. I put a layer of Dynamat under the factory rear carpet as well as under the car just above the mufflers. This helped some but the drone was still annoying. (Unexceptable). So.. I made some resonators and that solved the problem. The drone is not completely gone but it is very tolerable. My wife is happy too. There is a description of what I did in one of the sticky threads.
That is my car configuration exactly. I am concerned about that drone. I ordered flowmaters, so I'll give em a try and see what I think. I am going to put headers on as well, so I need to see how that combination is. I may not like it if it's droney.
