Default Nav Destination Entry while moving

I don't have my '07 with Nav yet, so I can't try my theories on how to enter destinations while moving. The majority of times I will actually want Nav is when both of us are in the car and away from familiar ground.
Reading the Nav manual I understand that:
The GPS antenna is under the instrument panel. Where under the panel is unkown to me.
There is at least one back-up speed signal to the Nav system.
Assuming I read and understand the manual correctly (big IF), then,

Theory:
Blocking the GPS signal with a metallic object above the antenna will block GPS position update and GPS speed will go to zero.

In Nav Calibration, select DISTANCE and input the speed/change default to zero.

Anybody care to attempt to block the antenna and let somebody in the right seat try this.

I have no ego to bruise, so, "Go Noses Hot-Cleared to Fire".

It also receives a speed signal from the transaxle. In addition it knows which way you are turning from a compass. The navigation system will continue to work when driving through a tunnel for example using a form of dead reckoning from the speed sensor and compass. Of course the continued lack of a GPS signal will eventually cause the position indicated to be increasingly inaccurate. So you still can't enter a new address while the car is moving.

While moving you can enter anything that's on the first page of "Previous Addresses", can't scroll to the next page while moving.

You can also select "Home" while moving, and probably any of the numbered destinations alongside of "Home."

That's it in it's default state. Even a notch of the e-brake will not help trick it into thinking that it isn't moving as can be done with other systems.
