Default Silly question....

My wife and I are going to the Kentucky Derby next year (first Weekend in May). We want to rent/driveaway a Corvette and drive back home to San Jose, CA via old Route 66 (what's, left of it). I've searched rental company's, driveaway companies, and anything else I can think of, but no results so far. Anybody got any ideas?

Do you want a Corvette both ways or just coming back from the Derby?

Renting a Corvette would probably cost a couple hundred a day, plus mileage. It would be cheaper to buy one with Museum Delivery, drive it around Kentucky, and sell it when you get home.

Try those exotic rent-a-car places. I know they have them in Beverly Hills. And there are a lot of those exotic car time share places. One by my house has a Z06 there. You have an option to try the membership for a while.

I have lived in Louisville, KY for most of my life and as far as I can rember no rental places with a corvette or a one way return to Cal.

I will be glad to let you rent mine for the day...

Good luck and if you would like me to ck out a few places let me know...

Would be glad too.

I thought about buying one, but even at $200/day and a total drop off charge it would still only come to about $2-3k one way (we're flying to Louisville). The depreciation on a Vette with 3000 miles on it would be alot more than that including tax, license, etc.

I saw your post on renting a Corvette. I would like to do the same thing as it's cheaper for me to spend a couple thousand a year to rent one for my two road trips per year than buy one and let it sit 50 weeks. Eventually I will probably own one but I need to get rid of a few toys first.

Any luck in finding rental Corvette's?

Thanks

No luck so far. There are many big city rental places that will rent you an exotic (including Vettes) but they only rent locally.....must be returned to the same location.
