Default Another top problem??

Well this was the third time that the back latch has popped open while driving. It used to make the normal pop/crack sound after I had the top off and then it when I would put it back on it would pop once. Now that sound has gone away and replaced by the snapping of the locking device. I'm sure it's an adjustment problem but wanted to see if it's an isolated one.

Did you examine the latch up close? There is an adjustment using a very small Allen wrench. You unscrew the set screw just a smidge, just enough so you can turn the clamp on its longitudinal axis, to shorten it a bit and tighten the latch. Then retighten the set screw.

thanks for the reply. no but that's kind of what I figured. I was wondering if this is an isolated case seeing that I don't recall seeing it posted before. But yea my other half says take it in to have them repair it. I say I rather do it myself instead of taking time off to take it in..,

My 05 did that on me a few times too. Very scary the first time it happened. I didn't do any adjusting, just pulled down harder on it when latching. I sold the car at 5400 miles so I didn't get to experience the flying roof.
