I normally carry spare house and vehicle keys in my wallet. Has anyone tried removing the palstic/rubber chunk at the top of the factory key, so it can fit in a wallet easily ? Is there a metal portion left on the top of the key that can be used to provide enough of a grip on the key to use the emergency unlock at the rear hatch ?
I had a spare made, then removed the plastic part from the spare and put the key in a special credit card holder and store it in my wallet. Works well, visit your local key and lock speciality store!
Anyone remember when GM used to send you the plastic keys in a little credit card sleeve that fit right in your wallet. I still use mine, but it now has some metal keys in with them.
