I have a 2005 C-6 and I need some help...I can not get my passenger door to close (latch). My son got out and with the door open took out his computer bag (maybe pulling the emergency handle with the door open) Now the door will not latch. I have tried everything short of cutting power...any suggestions...I could fine none in the owners manual?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
Yep..two things:
-pull up on the lever just next to the seat (outside portion next to door) and release and then see if it latches when closing door
if this does not work>>
-the keeper portion of the latch on the body of the car (otherwords not the lock portion on the door)... taking a pencil or even a chop stick (the point is something of that size) and push the keeper mechanism back (this is really hard to visualize..the keeper is slotted and you place the pencil (what ever) perpendicular to the slot and push back towards body)... OK not a real good descript and if this makes no sense let me know and I will go to pictures.

Well for anyone interested, there is a plastic piece inside the latch on the bottom and mine has broken, will have to get a new one installed at dealership....more to follow.

Well what happened IMO is that when you son pulled his back pack out it pulled the lever I referenced up and thus threw the latch and when he/you closed the door the latch on the door rammed the keeper and it broke....

Just to bring you all up to speed, the door was not broken after all. The spring latch inside was stuck, the mechanic told me it was a stuck switch inside the door. I don't know if that will help anyone but good luck and happy cruising!

I had a problem opening my doors about a month following delivery.
