I agree. I didn't say I liked it, only reciting what I read. You are preaching to the choir. I think the bottom line is if your car is predisposed to DBS you can try any number of methods to shut down and they may not work. Only time will tell if the BCM, SLM or ECM re-flash will be the fix. I, for one, am moving on from this car to a newer one.

That's probably not the case.
The problem of DBS could initiate if you do a little backup after you pull in forward, then go to reverse and back up a smidge. There seems to be a vulnerable time frame after placing the car in reverse. If you just pull straight backwards into a spot, you're already in reverse a few seconds and this probably wouldn't apply.
