Default Autotrain????

Has anyone here taken their Vette on the autotrain run by Amtrak?

Going to FL at the end of the month would like to have the car down on South Beach for a day or two. The autotrain is how I have gotten to FL in the past.

Heck, once you get past Richmond, the drive is a breeze.. you have the car.. why not make the trip.

Besides, do you let others park your car? Frankly, I would not trust those Amtrack employees with my car...

I've driven from NYC to FLA many times. Once you pass Richmond the trip is a breeze.
Driving south on I95 all the way through Florida is a bit of a PIA. You are better off picking up the FLA Turnpike as soon as you can and taking it the rest of the way. I know it hooks up with 95 somewhere in the northern half of FLA but I can't remember which exit.

My C-10 with 33x12.50R15 tires, sticking out of the wheel wells by about 1" each side, made the Autotrain trip with no problem. On the same train was a Viper with even wider wheels and tires, and no problems for him either.

Particularly if you have a significant other with you, the train can be a very pleasant alternative to driving.
