I am pricing a '07 coupe. One of the dealers I've talked with suggested I obtain a GID#, and recommended that I request one on the Corvette Forum. It is my understanding that if I obtain this number, I can then get a better purchase price. I have no idea what a GID# is. Can anyone give me any information? Thanks!

You are actually looking for a GMID certificate. GMID stands for GM in your Driveway and GM employees can give out a couple of month to friends and family. Do a search, there is a guy on the forum that gets GMID's for forum people. The other thing you can do is get the GM Supplier discount (this is the same pricing as the GMID) if you work at a company that supplies product to GM. I got a GM Supplier Discount through Honeywell (we must supply Fram/Prestone/Seatbelts, or something like that to GM).
Now the trick, you have to find a dealer that will honor this pricing. It's only about 1% over invoice, so it's really good for a Corvette. By the way, GM doesn't offer this pricing on the Z06. I ended up using a forum dealer, MacMulkin Chevy to buy my 06. I had it courtesy delivered to a local dealer in Arizona and it was a very easy and smooth transaction. Talk to Tommy Jr. at MacMulkin, he'll take care of you after you get the GMID certificate.
