2011 Corvette?
Logged onto fyi.gmblogs.com this morning and there was a post about Tom Wallace. In the post it said Tom was attending "strategic planning meetings for the 2011 Corvette." That, combined with other posts talking about the Corvette being on a 5 to 6 year cycle, maybe the C7 will be a 2011? Anyone have any other information?

The C7 will be out in mid 2010 as a 2011 model.

Will they even have all of the bugs worked out of the C6 by then?

No but do you think that will stop them. They never got all the bugs out of the C5 yet.

Hopefully they'll improve the quality of the interior materials, or at least provide them as options. I don't really care about increasing the engine horsepower/torque since most of us don't really need 500+ horsepower.

2011 gives the C6 a 7 year run. The C5 had 8. Sounds about right, unless GM or the economy tanks badly then all bets are off.

That will happen for Model Year 2008 as an option.

Tom
I count 6 years....'05, '06, '07, '08, '09, '10...that's 6...you can't count the '11 because it would be a C7

Nope! According to my info, the C6 will only run 5 years. Look for the C7 as a 2010 model.
The C7 will be a NEW car. Unlike the C5 update we now have.

That's what they say now, but they never meet their deadline. I believe that the original plan was to have the C5 come out in 1993 for the 50th anniversary. Instead it was 4 years later. So if GM thinks they'll have the C7 ready by 2010, I bet it's not ready until 2012 or 2013.

The 50th was 2003. The C5 was out for the 50th.

MY thoughts exactly. The C6 is an evolution from the C5 just as the C3 evolved the C2

The C7 when it comes out will be evolution from the C6 as it was from the C5.

Wallace has been promising that the C7 will be a "radical departure" in interviews. Look for a metal body, and a turbo-diesel engine.

Sorry, that was a typo on my part, I meant to say they originally wanted the C5 to come out in 93 for the 40th anniversary, not 50th.
