I want to add a Maggie to my 05 Vert this winter and have a couple of questions?
1. What effect positive or negative will a supercharger have on resale value. Looking for someone with past experience on a C5.
2. Would like to go with the Lingenfelter hood. Is the any water problems with the huge scoop in front. The car will see some road trips and I don't want to worry about getting caught in the rain......
THANKS
As the owner of a Vortech S-Trim supercharger on a '94 F-body (sold in '99), I can tell you it will, on average, add nothing to the value of the car. To some buyers it may be worth much less, and to a buyer who knows and appreciates what you added, and how well you did the job, it may add a bit more to the value. Don't do it if you think you are enhancing your "investment." Most people looking at a used car with an aftermarket supercharger see it as a potential problem, and an indication that the car was beat on. Make sure you document the history of the purchase and installation for future use.
And fight the urge to run more than moderate boost on pump premium gas. Also, don't program to advance the timing or raise your rev-limiter. Unless, of course, you are willing to gamble $9,000 on gaining 30 more horsepower...
Thanks for the input and that is about what I expected to hear. Never made money on a car yet so no it's not one of my favored investments.....just looks like fun......

Yeah, it is fun. I am trying to get beyond the whole resale scare thing. I bought my Z51 in March, paid 52k with a extended warranty, I drive it once a week if I am lucky. After Long tubes, CAI, lowering, etc, I am now at 382 RWHP and want more. I have less than 3000 miles on the car. I gotta stop thinking about resale so I can just go ahead and slap a Maggie on.
Its funny, last night I dreamed that I did the install myself, then I wake up, check the forum, and see Kerbecks is selling brand new 2007 for 46K.
Screw resale, I am going to Maggie it and enjoy showing it off.
Thanks again guys and yea that polished Maggie sure looks kick *** under the hood. Just gotta have one
One of the Vette magizines says you will really need to put on Z06 rear wheels to get the most from a SC.....True??
My experience so far is that if you get into the gas, you can spin the tires in 2nd through the top of the gear.... but you still get a very fair amount of traction. I got the feeling the car was just on the edge of gaining traction the whole time - but never quite could fully.
I've not bothered to goose it but once in first and you could consider that as "burnout on demand". Not sure what 3rd gear holds for me, for the handful of times I've sought to get my kicks - a rolling second gear has been plenty.
Wider tires would certainly help plant more power to the ground, but I wouldn't necessarily say they are required.

Very cool response, thank you. The car handles so well with the stock tires, I am afraid of tweaking the handling with a larger rear tire, Ill stay OEM now.
