there are 3 tabs on the power outlet and one hole in the console, if I remember correctly. On removal, I put on tab through the hole and rotated it. Got the 2nd one through and rotated more, and then got the 3rd one through. It took quite a bit of time, and there was a good chance of breaking it, but I figured a replacement wouldn't cost that much anyway.
Putting it in is fairly easy, just push it in with a little force.
They were the last wires to be disconnected... Console was "free" and the compression tab is on the top (faceing the top of the console). Squeeze that and pull... Easy once you get to that tab....which is hard.

I've had mine out 4 times doing the stereo and that one fights me EVERY time. If you use a 90 degree pick tool it makes it a little easier - it's very hard to get your fingers onto that compression tab.
