I don't know if this is normal but let me ask to see if anyone else feels what I feel. I have the Z51 07 M6. When I am trying to turn the steering wheel at low RPM the power steering isn't smooth. It feels lumpy as if the power steering pump is messed up. Has anyone else felt this or am I alone on this. Regardless, I am going to GM to check it out. By the way, I checked all the fluids.
I too have noticed this anomaly - it feels like a "dead" spot in the steering. It usually occurs as I'm coming off idle from a dead stop and am turning the wheel. It feels like the RPM's have dropped to the point of almost killing the engine but I'm not, the rpm's are at 700 and never really dip lower the say 500. I have a manual and find it unsettling. None of my other manual transmission Corvettes acted like this. I've checked fluids and all seems fine.
But I can't duplicate repeatedly so I'm reluctant to take it to the dealer.

Thanks for bring this up.

Glad to know that this is "normal" or that we are all together on this. Happy driving.

It happens to me all the time - at low speeds when letting out the clutch like everyone else described. I just assumed it was the power steering pump losing pressure as the engine RPM's got too low. I've dealt with it on other cars and trucks - no big deal.
I think we're more sensitive to it on the C6 because the steering is so heavily boosted (over-boosted IMHO) as compared to previous generation Corvettes and other sports cars.
