Well after almost exactly 72 hrs from the time I picked up my baby at the museum I hit the magic 500. I did pretty good and did not go over 4 grand on the tach, varied the rpm's and did not use more than a third of the available throttle. But as we all know with a m6 74mph is only 1,850 rpm's. Anywho- After 3 days my views have changed somewhat. z51 not as smooth as I first thought but not bad. Just tight. Quiet, but new exhaust will take care of that. Was able to use more throttle on the way home. I still think its too refined but its growing on me quickly. I love this car. My wife said that she has not seen me this excited about a car in a long time. (last time was when I went to pick up the 427 Cobra) Smooth, Linear, Refined, Comfortable, are just some of the adjectives I can come up with. I really like this car. My son and I took an exit loop that took us about 270 degrees. We took it faster than I ever could have hoped to do in my '03 cobra and got the feeling I was only at 70% of what this car is capable of doing.

I am a Chevy man from now on. (I only wish Chevrolet would have given Carol Shelby the engines he wanted. It would have been neat having the Cobra in the Chevy family.

On Tuesday I was washing the car and my next door neighbor came over. He asked if I had gotten a new "TOY" I said yes and he tells me that his father-inlaw just picked up his new Vette. A Z06! man talk about popping my balloon... He came driving up about that time and his red z and my black convertible made a good showing in our cove.
