Default Options and Value

I am shopping (and trying to keep the price of the car in check). At this point, know a few things I "must" have: manual, Z51, 3LT. Outside of those, looks like the best bang for the buck is to choose the exterior color (if you really like Monterey Red: pay the $750) and interior (if you really like the 2 tone. pay the $695). Other items don't seem like they are a relative value (DVD, Onstar, Chrome Wheels). For as much as I would use DVD and Onstar, hard to justify the added expense. I'm all for nice wheels, but the $1850 chrome upgrade seems pricey - what would a set of quality aftermarket wheels cost that would make your car more unique? Just want to see if you folks feel the same way - let me know what you think!

Please fill out the rest of your profile with city and general location - -there are several dealers on the board that may have what you're looking for.... it's also getting towards the time of year where they might make you a deal on a leftover `06 that you can't refuse.

I think you'll find that on this forum, it's to each his own with respect to preferences and options . . .heck, we're lucky we can agree what day it is! But the short answer might be that you're probably on target since few options return their original investment by even fifty cents on the dollar.

Good luck

You've got the 3 most important items. Everything else is just
"nice to have" stuff, IMO. My '06 Triple Black Vert has only those three, and I'm thrilled. The nice thing is, if you want to spend the cash on the extras, GM will gladly let you!

I got the nav and the On-Star and I like them both. On-Star gives me a piece of mind with emergencies and if the car is stolen they can track it. I like the phone that comes with it too. The diagnostic email they send you every month is a nice bonus as well. I will be renewing the On-Star at the end of my end of year trial.

It's really only a question you can answer. For example, I felt the 3LT was a rip off for what you got and stuck with the 2LT.
