I’m considering an order for a 2007 Corvette VERY soon, but need some input/feedback/opinions from you current owners to decide on my final configuration. It will be my daily driver, as my current 350Z Roadster has been for the last 3 years. I’m also going to try the coupe with an automatic trans, since I live inside the Beltway and traffic can be a bear. I have had MT cars due to need for acceleration, but I don’t think that will be an issue with the C06

(1) Colors - I’m looking at Silver Mettalic exterior (I always buy silver sports carsfor some reason) with Ebony / Titanium two-tone seats. I’m also looking at the Competition Grey wheels for her… will this be a good combo for a silver Vette? I think it will, but I haven’t seen one like it yet… Thoughts?

(2) Suspension packages/brakes/tire upgrades - I’m leaning towards the MSRC suspension with the upgraded brake kit. This will give me some flexibility on the bad city roads around DC. I love the idea of the Z51 package, but it might be a little too stiff... Any thoughts from your experience with both set-ups? Is the Z51 ok for daily pounding?

(3) Packages - Are the features on the LT3 worth the money? (i.e., telescopic wheel, upgraded stereo, navi, XM, etc) I’m definitely leaning towards the LT3 with Navi and XM, but not sure if I couldn’t get by with the LT2 package. I'm afraid I will kick myself later if I don't get all the bells and whistles...

Sorry for all the questions, but other than my condo, this is the biggest purchase I’ve ever made! I’ve always wanted a Corvette, and since I’ve been to 4 funerals in the last month, I realized that life is short and I’m ready to drive a Vette every day! My Dad owned a ’65 Vette, so I need to keep the tradition going.

That’s about all I can think of for now, other than finding the BEST price. Thanks in advance!
I have a Machine Silver 06 with Ebony interior and I LOVE it!!!! I prefer the shiny wheels but its whatever you like. If you post I know
several have shown pictures with the wheels you are considering.
2. I have the Z51 and it is pretty stiff if the roads you drive are bad. If not I think the Z51 is the best bang for the buck of the selections. 3.I chose the 3lt package but did not get "on star " or nav. (we have a Garmin) But I agree with the others you will love the HUD.
Life whether long or short you need a VETTE. In my humble but accurate opinon.

First off, thanks VERY much for the insights into the options... it's been a very helpful discussion for me! I know it can be annoying when noobs come on a MB and ask alot of questions...

I'm deciding now and will place an order very soon, will let y'all know what I end up with!

Wow, I haven't been this excited about a car since I had my old '66 Mustang GT when I was 18

First off, I track mine, so even though it's also my DD, the C6 I'll be picking up in a week or so is going to be MN6 like both my C5s have been. If I had to deal with the beltway or a ton of stop and go, I might consider the A6.

When I was first looking at C5s I thought the HUD was a potentially annoying gimmick, and actually was concerned enough that I had to be sure I could turn it off.

Well, it took all of about 1 minute to realize I love the HUD, and I NEVER turn it off!! I can't wait to have the Nav and g meter included in the new updated HUD. IMO, it's a must-have option, and makes the 3LT the only package I'd consider, even if heated seats in Florida is a bit unnecessary.

When you finally get your vette, don't forget to wave!

Good luck, and negotiate a good deal. Yes, the 3LT is overpriced, but you will likely regret not getting it if you opt for the 2LT, especially if the car is your everyday driver. I would skip the NAV - not worth it, and you can get a unit with much more bang for the buck to add once you have the car.

I traded my torch red C5 with all the bells and whistles for a black C6 Lt2 package both seats are electric and have memory this is a weekend pleasure car for me The transparent roof is important i also have an automatic the aluminium wheels look great and the car outperforms and out handles myC5 that had everything on it and I never used most of the options. The heads up display is cool but this too I very rarely used I paid around 44,000 and well worth it LT3 is much more for an 07 and trust me you will love the car in the LT2 same bucket sport as the LT3
and the seat really is important The LT1 seat just doesnt hug you the same way. This car is a new generation of driving for a corvette
keep in mind you cant change brake pads with the racing rotors they cant be cut must get new rotors each time plus pads the standard Lt2 rotors you can just change the pads much much cheaper. Just don't get the Lt1 . This car drives and handles better then my merecedes.
